Unictam

The leading ampicillin sulbactam antibiotic in the Egyptian market.

The Unictam family belongs to the class of Beta-Lactam antibiotics. It consists of sultamicillin, which is the tosylate salt of the double ester of sulbactam plus ampicillin. Sulbactam in combination with ampicillin extends the antibacterial activity of the latter to include some beta-lactamase-producing strains of bacteria that would otherwise be resistant, so it is used in the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections.
